Over the course of several weeks, I developed an extensive body of work, focusing on form-making, hierarchy, and the integration of type and image through a design staging process. The project involved working without a predetermined outcome, allowing for creative exploration at each stage. This exploration led to the design of a series of posters for
Here, Now + Then: An Avant-Experimental Film Series, a fictitious event at the Walker Art Center. The final posters incorporated nine layers of textual information and a mix of shapes, silhouettes, line work, texture, and both abstract
and representational imagery drawn from the initial analog investigations. Each poster was built around a consistent composition and layout, reflecting a system-based approach. I selected inventive fonts that contrasted the imagery,
and experimented with various color palettes for each poster. The final collection of work was documented in a process book, highlighting the progression and outcomes of the two-month design journey.
